Treatment Philosophy

Narconon Colorado – A Life Worth Saving is an extensive program that takes an alternative holistic approach to rehabilitation, using our own unique form of cognitive therapy and physical purification.

Narconon® does not utilize traditional treatment methods such as the 12-Step approach. Although the 12-Step approach can work for some people, many addicts report that they do not respond to the 12-Step philosophy.  The 12-step approach was developed in the late 1930s by two men, Bill Wilson and Bob Smith and was an answer of sorts, however it has not proven effective when treating the hard-core chemical addictions of today’s world.  The world of the new millennia presents extremely difficult set of circumstances for the addict; very cheap heroin, extremely potent marijuana, Methamphetamines, powerful and very addictive prescription medications are everywhere and easily obtained.  It takes a very thorough approach to shore up the recovering addict against this onslaught, but the good news is that it can be done.  Our approach of  addressing the addict’s ability to handle life is absolutely necessary, otherwise he remains a pawn to his impulses and compulsions.

Narconon Colorado – A Life Worth Saving’s treatment approach is based on scientific research of every facet as to what has been successful and not successful in the treatment of drug addiction. The success rate of our approach is 70% +.

Our program is individually tailored to each client, addressing each individual’s specific problems, issues, traumas, transgressions, etc. Rather than trying to cover up the symptoms of mood swings, anxiety, depression, and insomnia with medications, we work with the individual to target the source of the individual’s unpleasant feelings. DRUG USE IS ONLY A SYMPTOM OF WHAT IS GOING ON UNDERNEATH IT. There are circumstances and events that led up to the addiction: things that the person has been running from or hiding from or unable to look at, confront, accept or deal with.

We use educational life-skill therapies that restore a person’s abilities to confront life, resolve problems, and be in control of themselves, their life, the decisions they make, and the situations they put themselves in. The individual is taught the ability to “take cause” over their life and not allow themselves to be powerless or “in effect” of life surrounding them. They find new ways to cope with feelings and stress and be in command of their thoughts and actions.

The program is packaged in a series of standardized steps which are done in an exact sequence. The drug-free detox program removes the residual drugs from the body greatly decreasing the chance of relapse. The educational life skill therapies focus on life skills, coping skills, repairing ethics and morals, repairing life and relationships, responsibility and accountability which help the individual to become competent and productive. They get involved again with their family and society, gain control of themselves and reach the point where they can actually take responsibility for themselves and others as well. The program also addresses and handles the reason why the individual started using drugs in the first place and gives them the knowledge and certainty they need to lead a long and happy, drug-free life.
